Just because Jack Kennedy or General Eisenhower or whoever it was put you in the front row of the White House press room ---where you've crusted over, lo these many decades--- doesn't mean that you're entitled to bicker with the President of the United States. Got it? You want to ask the question, so ask it. That's your right. But don't sit there and fucking bicker when it's only Bush's graciousness that mitigates the accusatory and wholly rhetorical nature of your slung mud.

I still love you man.

But I must disagree on this one, as well.

As much as I hate to see anyone's 'celebrity status' have any influence on their journalistic credibility, she has earned her reputation for asking the questions that no one else has the balls to ask.

Bush works so hard to keep anyone from throwing open the curtain and exposing his lies. When he travels to speaking engagements, he has the local police and secret service forcing people into unconstitutional "free speech zones" where he won't have to see the distrust his actions generate. I'm glad to see anyone hit him with a question that isn't kissing his ass like Jeff Gannon.

Helen deserves your respect for asking hardball questions. Few others in the Press Corps will even risk their little careers in pursuit of the truth. Her "bickering" was out of frustration because Bush is incapable and unwilling to give anyone a straight answer that isn't laden with "talking points".

I won't argue the potato-like appearance can be unnerving, but the lady has real class. More Americans should have the courage she displays.

And some mud, my friend, needs to be slung.
