Um....oh boy. Just re-read my comment and realized that it sounds just a little wee bit like something a crazy nazi would write. Well, what I meant to say is that 55 years is a mighty long time to be getting mixed up in a problem that should not concern us not on jot nor one tittle. The ideology of Zionism owes more to the German romantic/nationalist school of thought than it does to the Torah and that is straight up. You've got some nice folks on both sides over there and their lives are being destroyed by extremist @#%$! on both sides. Just to throw one more dis-jointed thought on the fire, I still don't understand why we don't have someone send in some peacekeepers. The Germans and the British come to mind rather readily since they can both be blamed for the current mess. The Turks run a close third just because they used to run the joint and they have cool hats and they don't mind kicking everybody's ass if that's what it takes.

Ah, well. Don't regret your own candor. In the abstract, even I can appreciate the human dimension of a peaceful family of Arab citizens wanting a shot at economic opportunity. But when I see who they turn to for political leadership (Arafat, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, et al.), I can only think that they are a community of psychopaths. And there's nothing more to be done with a mad dog than to shoot it. If it takes American troops fighting in the streets of Jerusalem, I say Christ and bar-Kochba be with them. But a Jewish Israel is here to stay. No amount of terrorism or betrayal or Judenhass is going to change that, Sluggo.
