What is this incredible crap that Chris Matthews is talking on Hardball right now? Is anybody listening to this gibberish? He and Howard Fineman and some fruitbat from Vanity Fair are just the worst cageful of shit-flinging monkeys I've seen in a while.

Get a grip, Matthews. Your boy Joe Wilson isn't any sort of prophet or martyr to the anti-war cause and nobody gives a damn what his opinions of the War for Iraq are.

The FACT is that Wilson was WRONG about the Saddamites' attempts at procuring uranium in Africa ---and the United States Senate as well as an independent governmental inquiry in Britain said so.

Wilson is the single best example I can think of to demonstrate the old totalitarian strategem of repeating a lie often enough until it becomes the truth. Big Media has absolutely misreported what Wilson found out on his Nigerien vacation ---and nobody seems willing to point this out. Why?

'Coz Wilson was right.

If Wilson was wrong, why didn't the guys in the WH just say so instead of going to so much trouble to attack his credibility and set themselves up for these indictments???

Bush's 16 words were deliberately misleading if not outright lies, depending on what "recently" means. They don't pass the smell test.

Jeez, you guys still think you can make this go away by smearing Wilson. This hasn't been about Wilson for quite some time. This is about the vermin currently infesting the White House.

Spanky, since everybody's a propagandist, it really has to come down to which side is more correct. If you idolize Joe Wilson, fine, but just remember that he barely rates a footnote in the grand scheme of things.

We needed the War for Iraq. If the causes weren't explained well enough to your liking, that sucks, but we needed to fight this war, anyway.

If the WH itself had gone out to directly rebut Joe Wilson's claims, what makes you think that the circumstances behind his time in Niger would have gone unreported? Publicly going after Wilson would have been pretty unusual for them and it would have raised a lot of questions.

Not nearly as many as are about to be raised, but enough to have exposed the Wilsons' plan to be outed and become certified martyrs to the anti-war cause.

Oh, yeah. I forgot. They couldn't do that. The circumstances behind his trip would've come out, namely that he was sent to Africa by the DO at the behest of the Vice President. Well, they could've quoted from some forged document in that case. That wouldn't have been at all unusual for them.
