Look, the whole point of making such a big stink of the Founding Fathers alleged anti-abortion stance is that it plays to the base. And that's the only way Bush will survive the next 38 months; by keeping people like you whipped up in a frenzy of indignant anger and emotion. (even if you do disagree with them on this particular point).
And as hard as it is to believe an administration would want to do this, you have to dig into the antecedents of their political philosophy to understand why. Of course, it doesn't take a Democrat to tell you a lot of their inspiration is fully incompatible with American Democracy.
That's why it feels like they're ramming square pegs into round holes every time they open their mouths. But they're in a bubble, anyway. They're not much for feedback unless it's hysterical devotion.

Name: RiderNo, it cuts both ways. And, if I've given that impression, not all Republicans are evil, terrible folk. Some Republicans are related to me. (It happens even in the best of families, you know.) Some are just good friends. I admit that I do find it easier to get along with those that have libertarian leanings.

That's why they support this war, which the modern liberal Left, being too much like their communist heroes, oppose. The Left won't stand for liberty or self-government if they think that some Republican might be making a buck off of it.
