If you will look at the poll results, you should see that the people are open to a strategy for victory but they don't think Bush presented one in the tract referenced above. It reads like the blue book of a student who has cut classes all semester and has read none of the assignments. It's bullshit, Toby. And the people know it.

One promising development, though. Bush admits that the insurgency is not entirely made up of jihadis, but is comprised of three groups. (Gen. Pace, I believe, said he believes jihadi terrorists make up about 7% of the insurgents). The vast majority of the insurgents are ordinary Sunni Iraqis in revolt. There are about 100 separate cells of Sunni rebels now. We've had a civil war in Iraq for about two years now. We created it and are fighting in it on the side of the government we set up.

I oppose Bush because he has completely fucked up the battle against trans-national Islamofascist terrorism and because he is fucking up our military force structure beyond repair.

It’s Bush who must be the great fucking fan of Islamofascism. He has done more than any man alive to advance Islamofascism across the planet. Unwittingly, of course. The same way he does everything. He thinks he is a holy warrior for democracy but is just the opposite. The man is alarmingly ignorant and completely delusional.

Bin Laden, Zawahiri, and Zarqawi would be nothing without George W. Bush. Only pacifists were against the War in Afghanistan. But everything Bush has done since has made them more powerful than ever. Meanwhile, he thinks what he is doing in Iraq is fighting international Islamic terrorism. In reality, he is contributing to the spread of Salafist jihadism a helluva lot faster than he is spreading democracy. This should scare the shit out of all of us.

And we are all losers, literally, if we believe the War in Iraq has one damned thing to do with protecting us from terrorist attack. You may doubt the sincerity of Bush's "subversive" critics from the left if you choose, but surely you must realize we are sincere in our interest in personal self-preservation. Al Qaeda is having no problems meeting their recruitment goals. Of about 1,400 insurgents captured in western Iraq near the Syrian border in recent months, exactly zero have turned out to be foreigners. Bush is Al Qaeda's poster boy.
