It's true: that was very important for the President to say.
Name your enemy, man.

How do you fight an enemy when you don't have a freaking clue who he is? It's the occupation; not fundamentalism. Probably 95 percent* of the Muslim terrorists in the world today were created in the last three years by Bush's occupation of Iraq.
American Conservative Magazine
"The longer our forces stay on the ground in the Arabian Peninsula, the greater the risk of the next 9/11, whether that is a suicide attack, a nuclear attack, or a biological attack."
*The other 5 percent were created by our occupation of the Arabian Peninsula and by our policies in the ME. They attacked us on 9/11/01.

Here's another example of Bush's wool-pulling tactics. Yes, there are radical islamists who would love to do some scary crap to us westerners, but Bush is surrounded by radical religious zealots who are just as happy to murder and torture innocent people to further their own agendas. What's the big difference there? I love the way Joe Lieberman and his Mossad buddies stood up to hoot when Bush warned Hamas that they 'must recognize Israel'. What a f*$@# hypocrite Bush is!
Our money and our troops and our efforts need to be spent improving and protecting our own country, our own borders, our own democracy, and our own economy.
Bush's SOTU speech was naught but a propaganda song to keep his little mousketeers all buzzed up on their own righteousness.

I didn't think much of the SOTU, either.
But to the idea that the Christian politicians who surround Bush are morally equivalent to the Islamofascists, I think that is absurd. What "innocent people" is James Dobson torturing? If you mean Terri Schiavo, I agree. But the Christian Right in America has nothing on the Islamofascists in Iran and Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian territories.

This reminds me of the observation made by the anti-Bush Left with regard to the PDB that Bush received in August of 2001 that said, essentially, that OBL hated us and that he was still trying to get at us. Whoa! What insight! How could the President have ignored such trenchant analysis?
The idea that we have "created" terrorists in the Muslim world is really no different from the pathetic blubberings of a battered wife who believes that she is to blame for her husband's treatment of her.
You really think that we are responsible for the sickness of extremist Islam? Get serious.

The only reason the christian Right in America 'has nothing on the islamofascists' is because their hands are now tied by the law. Theirs is a legacy of hatefulness and ruthless and radical killing for their beliefs.
Witch trials and the murder of native peoples all over the globe? That sounds pretty retard-o-fascist to me.
I hate all fundies.
