Now Playing: SCOTUSbait
I read today that the state legislature in South Dakota has passed a law that will eventually ban all abortions there, except to save the life of the mother.
Needless to say, this is a step backwards for women's reproductive rights.
But the provision I noticed most particularly is the one that says that a doctor in South Dakota who performs one of these illegal abortions faces up to five years in prison. Huh?
That's a rather tame punishment for premeditated murder of another human being, isn't it? Don't the doctor and would-be mother, together in their foul deed, constitute a conspiracy leading to capital murder?
Why don't law enforcement agencies in South Dakota dispatch their officers to wherever an abortion is suspected to have happened and arrest the doctor and the woman for murder? Why not? I mean right now, goddammit.
Is that not how it works?
People should understand that a woman who seeks an abortion is exactly the kind of woman who knows her own limitations as a mother best; knows her own situation and is obviously the first cause in herself of whatever child may come from her own body. What sort of madness would make someone think that he or she knows better than the expectant woman herself what is best for her? Fucking nonsense.
Let us have a world where only children who were wanted ab initio may be born.
