I've just returned from the beautiful experience of visiting the Texas State Cemetery. Perfect temperature, a nice breeze, not so sunny as to annoy, and the whole place ---except for the men who keep the grounds there--- was mine to enjoy alone. What a beautiful place. Lots of well-tended green spaces and a system of ponds, streams, and fountains. There are graves and monuments for many of Texas' greatest names, as well as a memorial to those lost in the atrocities of 11 September 2001.
If you're ever in East Austin, be sure to visit there. It's a special patch of Earth.
