Now Playing: "I've Just Seen a Face" by the Beatles
In the past fifteen minutes or so (it's about 0630 CDT), I have watched the sky go from its usual pre-dawn darkness through an absolutely breath-taking pattern of light and shadows. As my friend here with me suggested, it could have been morning on Mars for all its unearthly orangeness. Or it's like a dusk you've never seen. Giant lumbering clouds in countless shades of grey ---just about to burst with rain. I had to go outside and stand in the middle of it just to take it all in. And I couldn't. It was too marvelous.
Literally an ineffable moment on Earth. I am glad I was alive today to see such a sky.
