"During that trip, members of the 101st Airborne Division showed the 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS news crew bunker after bunker of material labelled "explosives." Usually it took just the snap of a bolt cutter to get into the bunkers and see the material identified by the 101st as detonation cords.

"'We can stick it in those and make some good bombs.' a soldier told our crew."

If I'm not mistaken, April 18, 2003 was more than a week into the occupation. Damn embeds! They makes it hard to LIE later on.

Sucks when your guy turns out to be a weak commander-in-chief who acted on faulty and incomplete information going into the war -- HE did the same thing he says disqualifies Kerry!

This is rich. We requested almost a decade ago that the IAEA destroy this particular class of explosives in Iraq because of their application in nuclear bombs. But sphincters like el-Baradei and Blix declined because of their possible dual use in commercial applications. No condemnation of that?

And how about recognizing the fact that we have secured and/or destroyed literally hundreds of thousands of tons of explosives in the 18 months we've been there? Kerry wants to whine about a few hundred tons that el-Baradei and the NYT told him are missing? If that's not a disproportionate response, then what is?

But don't get too worked up about the embed video, Deep Blade. There are a lot of facts we don't have yet ---and there's a lot of factors that you people are ignoring, such as our overwhelming presence at the time along the roads leading to and from al-Qaqaa and the very considerable logistical issues that the [insurgents] would have faced in removing 380 tons of explosives and the fact that the IAEA seals were easily defeated and that the Saddamites had lots of time to play with and on and on.

Kerry made a mistake by jumping in like this head first. Now, he's going to have to pay for it.

You take your facts in salad form, all mixed up with the hot peppers that come from the Bush campaign press room. The Pentagon says they destroyed 402,000 tons of munitions? Well, that leaves at least 248,000 tons (same order of magnitude) unaccounted. The stuff at al Qaqaa was very special, a remnant of the old US-supported Iraqi nuclear program.
